where to stay with kids

Post by regions on Tue Sep 01, 2009 9:57 pm

My children want to stay in Pigeon Forge because of all the attractions. I prefer to stay in a more natural area. Is there anywhere that is close enough to drive to Pigeon Forge for the kids but also close to the park for me to escape and hopefully get the kids to go on a hike.

so you're lookin for a compromise btwn heaven and hell, huh? just kidding... sort of.

gatlinburg's a good choice. the city abuts the park, and i'm pretty sure there are shuttles going btwn G'burg and PForge. you can even hike the gatlinburg trail or the twin creeks trail from the city into the park.

and if you want a little more of a buffer zone between you and the tourist traps... try Townsend.
