Cades Cove - GSMNP 6/13
I spent a few hours in the Cove this morning before the crush of folks poured in for the 75th Anniversary Celebration events. The place was "nuts"!
The Loop Road was open to car traffic this morning (normally closed until 10:00am on Wednesdays and Saturdays for bicycles). As usual there were few folks at the gates, waiting on the Rangers for the sunrise unlocking.
Tons of wild turkey (counted over 50) and the whitetail were grazing everywhere, we noticed many females that looked ready to "burst". Three female black bears with cubs .... all deep in the trees, no good photo ops, but fun to watch.
