Best Sunset Locations

I have 2 places I enjoy watching sunsets.

Clingman Dome's Parking Lot - can be chilly even in the middle of summer

Blue Ridge Parkway Visitor Center Parking Lot - Watch the sun set over a Panoramic View of Smokies

Blue Ridge Sunsets

It's at the Waterrock Knob parking overlook (around mile marker 451). Get on the Blue Ridge Parkway from US 19 between Maggie Valley and Cherokee and head toward Asheville and drive about 4 miles. There is a road to the left that will take you up to the visitor center.

Here's picture I took a couple years ago looking out at the Great Smoky Mountains:
